Introduction to this tool:

1. When is the safe period?

For women, the "safe period" generally spans the 5 days before and the 4 days after menstruation. During this time, ovulation does not occur (safe period), making pregnancy unlikely.

Generally healthy women ovulate regularly each month. For a woman with a 28-day menstrual cycle, ovulation typically occurs approximately 14 days before the start of her period.

An egg can survive for 1–2 days after release, while sperm can survive for about 3 days after entering the female body. Based on these patterns and the female menstrual cycle, the “fertile window” (when conception is most likely) can be roughly determined, and the remaining time constitutes the “safe period.”

2. How to Calculate a Woman’s Ovulation Period

Women with a relatively stable menstrual cycle: 14 days before the next menstrual period. The 4 days preceding this date, including the date itself, and the 5 days following it are referred to as the ovulation period (fertile window).

For women with irregular cycles: The first day of the ovulation period = the number of days in the shortest menstrual cycle minus 18; the last day of the ovulation period = the number of days in the longest menstrual cycle minus 11. This calculation is based on the first day of the current menstrual period as the starting point, counting the days forward.

3. What are the symptoms of the ovulation period?

Decreased appetite: Female animals focus more on seeking a mate than on finding food.

High energy levels: To successfully attract a mate, females become radiant and eager to show themselves off.

Heightened sexual desire: Sexual desire becomes particularly strong, driven by the body’s natural signals.
