Introduction to Full-Width and Half-Width Characters:

1. Full-width and half-width are terms used to describe the amount of space a character occupies in computer text, commonly applied to the handling of Chinese, Japanese, and Korean (CJK) characters as well as Latin characters.

2. A full-width character occupies a space equal to the width of a single Chinese character. In East Asian font design, the width of a single full-width character is typically equal to the width of two half-width characters.

3. Half-width characters occupy a space equal to half the width of a Chinese character. Half-width characters are primarily used to represent Latin letters, numbers, and Western punctuation marks.
